Pulled out the Coravin, just kidding I never put it away. This SIP is making it easy to be lax with keeping things in order during the week. I started to clean my office and pulling everything out made it worse so …… let’s taste wine! This blend uses all five classic varietals and the name Cinq Cepages translates to just that “five varieties”. Winemaker, Margo Staaveren has created a deep, dark red wine with dark cherry and black tea (yep I looked that descriptive up and love that it really speaks to some of the flavor in this wine), with a smooth mouth feel and drinkable wine.

This red blend consistently wins awards and has been on the list for Wine Spectator’s top 100 wines three times and in 1996 was chosen as #1. Great to drink now but another one that I will be excited to try with friends this summer.
